American Slang

On my recent trip to Vegas my sister kept telling me off for using American language. I ignored her, as usual.

Today when placing the ECG leads on a patient the anaesthetist apologised for getting in my way, and I said "Don't worry it's all good."

Then I paused, wow, was I glad nobody from home heard me say that. What a loser!

Who says, "it's all good?" apart from Americans.

What is all good exactly I thought? Certainly not being up at work earlier than 8 am.

Other words I have been using, laugh at will...

"That's hot"

"Sup?"

"Have a good day"

"Wicked cool" That is particular to Boston area.

"Have a good one" Again I am not sure, a good what??

Fortunately I haven't stooped to saying, "My bad" which means "I am sorry". All this stupid American talk makes me sounds like a real monkey.

I have to get home!

One more month..

Anyway after Vegas and Miami I have been shattered hence no blog, been watching some tv. Just saw a very funny prank show...

These people in Vegas signed up and paid hundreds of dollars for a VEGAS HELICOPTER TOUR and after they paid, this pilot took them to the helicopter inside and out, showed them the helicopter and goes well that's it, that was your tour of a vegas helicopter.

It was hilarious, they went crazy! Well I smiled.

So one more month till I come home to the UK. I am very excited, which is strange to be excited about going somewhere you spend so much time usually. But hopefully the sun will be waking up in Spain. And one day maybe in 2005 the flat will be ready for me and Dani to move into. Who knew furniture takes 3 months to make and deliver? Is this furniture made by ewoks or something?!?!

Speaking of which...

It's that time to organise the first sat night of Star Wars Episode III, in town, May20th. Who wants a ticket? (Email me asap)

I am sure Adam C and I will be redoing our light sabre battle outside the Empire Leicster Sq!! See you all soon.

Viva Las Vegas

Well Las Vegas once again, did not disappoint!

The Mandalay Bay, renamed the Mandy B was great.

Plasma Tvs, comfy beds and views of the strip, the Blue Man Group was original, the magic of Lance Burton was simply amazing and the all you can eat buffets kept the calories and the entertainment coming, 90 degrees, Klingons, 3 inch wide chocolate strawberries, half foot long creme brulee, shark reefs, fun fairs, helicopter rides, Let it Ride, crazy taxi rides and Star Trek rides, brazilian feasts, lazy rivers, wave machines, Bellagio fountains, erupting volcanoes - all so much fun!

Funniest comment of the trip, chatting with a cabbie, talking about Roy of Siegfried and Roy fame being attacked by a tiger.

"Yeah that was sure one magic tiger, he made Siegfried and Roy disappear!" He chuckled.

Definitely one of the best holidays ever. And now I come back to Boston and it is still feet deep in snow.

Below : Dani (in the middle) still looked jet lagged at Star Trek the Experience.

What to do on a rainy day!

A rainy day in Florida.

So what to do? Well i went to the movies, with a salad that I bought. Big problem. Mega beast woman as I affectionately named her, wouldn't let me in the movie with my own food.

I was like, look I am on vacation, the weather sucks today, give me a break, let me watch the movie and eat my salad in peace.

Oh no, she had to conviscate it until after the movie if I wanted to go in. She knew there was nothing else to do with the rain pouring outside, damn!!

I gave over the salad, doubtful that mega beast would not eat it herself.

Lame movie, left it early, one of the advantages of going alone. I then went to gap and bought socks on sale, I know what a fun day right?!

Ali C aka Kermy the frog, sent this link... it is funny!!!

In better news Katie Holmes the actress just broke up from her fiancee, so there is still hope!

Right well I am off out with the one they call Pharrel.

Dont forget 2 months till we hit the Empire Leicster Sq for Star Wars episode 3. Who is in??

Bust a move

The first flurries of snow started to come down.

The weather channel was talking another 2 day blizzard. My plans to go down to Florida were about to be scuppered. I wanted to get out of Boston and fast, but the flights for today were so expensive. I called the airline...

Hurrah - due to the blizzard I could change my flights for free and get the hell out of dodge! Still no clue what that actually means, but people say that here a lot.

I had one hour to make the flight, I ripped open the suitcase threw everything in it, and grabbed a cab. Used self check in, and spent one hour in a security line...

"Save time now fellas, take your belts off!!" Said the man with wand in hand. Oh Lord.

Straight onto the plane, less than 3 hours later I had gone from 20 degrees to over 80 and the girls paraded down Lincoln in mini skirts and tee shirts.

I mean seriously, why don't we all move to Florida, you know it makes sense!!!

Better go, my phone keeps ringing all day ever since my number was taken off Paris Hilton's phone. :-)
